The clinical description of ADHD was given by George still; he described these symptoms when he observed more than 43 children with the characteristics of behavioral, emotional, mental and even psychological changes. These were unintentional in these children thus the study was a major effect in showing a new variety of disorder that was known as ADHD. According to Still these disorders were effective even if there was no deficiency of any vitamin mineral or even any neurological disorder. By George this was mainly considered as a symptom due to lack in attention and other deficiencies.
In the beginning of the 20th century the ADHD disorder was most commonly known as a disorder due to insults in brain and other functioning. This also occurred due to a trauma or metal irritability. These characteristics were found to be similar in human beings and also animals, these were found to be due to the damage in front lobe or even some other parts of the brain that controlled the behavioral control or emotional control. So at that time ADHD was termed as “minimal brain dysfunction”. These were found to be a brain damaging disease and even affect the functioning.
Hyperactivity due to ADHD came to light when in 19509s the children suffering from ADHD showed hyperactivity. In 1930s the widespread increase in medicines and drugs decreased the effects of ADHD. These drugs do not gained popularity till 1960s.
The central role of ADHD was deteriorating the functioning of brain and even the behavior pattern. The inattention properties were firstly questioned but the later on they were proved by George.
